Who is the Father Engagement Program for?
The Father Engagement Program is for fathers of all ages who want:
- Information on how to be a better influence in their child’s learning and development process
- To participate in different activities aimed at promoting their children’s best interests
- To connect with other dads and share experience and ideas
- To have a second chance in life and make amends with their families by playing the father’s role

Cognitive
Children are more likley to;
- Be more cognitively competent as babies and toddlers.
- Live in cognitively stimulating homes, enjoy school and be better academic achievers.
Emotional
Children are more likley to;
- Be securely attached to their fathers.
- Be more resilient and handle stress better.
- Experience less psychological distress (fear, guilt, depression, etc.).
- Have a higher sense of personal control and self-esteem.
Social:
Children are more likley to;
- Show higher social competence, social initiative and social maturity.
- Get along with their siblings and peers better.
- Have a greater respect for authority.
- Have a greater sense of empathy, tolerance and understanding.
Physical Health:
Children are more likley to;
- Sustain injury or be in an accident
- Survive infancy
- Be breastfed longer

Fathers can self-refer or can be referred by any other community agency.
